Smart Bids Optimization Systems

SBIDS determines optimal assignment of carriers to lanes for manufacturng and distribution company. Given a set of lanes and their traffic density forecast, a distribution company may take bids for transportation services from carriers. SBIDS helps manage and optimize the result for carrier selection and bid optimization.
First, given historical records for trafic volumes on various lanes, SBIDS can generate "lane" which the company is interestd in soliciting rate bids. Second, after the company receives bids from carriers, SBIDS optimizes assignment of carriers to each lane. For a white paper on SBIDS, download it at right.

Modules
SBIDS has three modules: TL (truck-load), LTL (less-than-truck-load), and bulk transportation models.

Functionality
Like STARS and SFLO, SBIDS is highly flexible -- it can accommodate many comprehensive operational constraints, including: plant-wise bundling, maximum percentage for services for each carrier, and the maximum number of carriers to be used.

Benefits
SBIDS Version 1.3 has been used by 3PL and its clients. Savings for customers have reached millions of dollars. Note that the savings from SBIDS is real, not estimated, and is available from day 1, since the improved rates can be implemented immediately without qualifications.
